Job Summary
Conduct complex water law research and analysis for litigation, drafting motions, briefs, and legal memoranda for dozens of cases across state and federal courts. Perform document review for relevance and privilege using Relativity and assist attorneys throughout all litigation phases, including comprehensive trial support. Interface directly with trial attorneys, experts, and clients while working on large projects individually or within the team. Requires a law degree or equivalent legal training, two years of litigation support experience, and proficiency with legal research tools like LEXIS and Westlaw. Full-time on-site position with an hourly rate of $38.10, eligible for overtime under the Service Contract Act.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust) facility credentials/authorization
- US Citizenship
- Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least two (2) years of study
- Equivalent level of seven (7) years legal training or experience
- Equivalent level of education may be substituted
- At least two (2) years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects or task order related projects
- Proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys
- Sound working knowledge of legal research procedures
- Sound working knowledge of legal research resources
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
- Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing
- Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including databases (such as document review and file management systems)
- Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including spreadsheets
- Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including imaging
