Job Summary
Process linens, clothing, and related laundry duties by sorting, folding, picking up, and distributing items while operating equipment and performing clean-up. Monitor linen and container inventory levels, informing the laundry lead when reorder points are reached and replacing containers as needed. Ensure nursing units and other departments receive appropriate quantities and quality of linen based on preset par levels by responding promptly to departmental requests and communicating problems to the laundry lead and Manager. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations while working cooperatively with other laundry specialists.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write at least at the eighth-grade level
- Ability to work unsupervised and relate professionally with other hospital staff
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
