Job Summary
Process, distribute, and store washable linen, garments, and other items while performing basic laundry tasks including folding, inspection, and cart building. Load and unload dryers, handle wet linens, and remove tangled dried linens. Transport fully loaded carts of linen to floors as required. Must be able to stand for eight hours or longer and lift weights ranging from 20 to 50 lbs. Knowledge of hospital areas requiring linen service is essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- 1 year experience in a laundry setting
- Knowledgeable about areas of the hospital that require linen service
- Must be able to stand on your feet for eight hours or longer
- Must be able to handle wet linens (blankets, sheets etc)
- Must be able to place wet linens into tumblers/dryers
- Must be able to remove dried lines from dryers that may be entangled into other linens
- Must be able to load and unload dryers
- Must be able to transport fully loaded carts of linen to the floors as required
- Must be able to lift weight ranging from 20 to 50 lbs
