Job Summary
Oversee the team of up to 15 laundry attendants, including training, planning workloads, and directing daily operations. Direct washing, drying, sorting, folding, and organizing of terry and linens while maintaining cleanliness and safety policies. Assist the Stateside Housekeeping & Laundry Manager with verifying laundry requests, ordering supplies, and managing inventory. Participate in ongoing team training, report equipment issues, and implement efficiency improvements. Work alongside housekeeping supervisors to ensure accurate linen counts and timely completion of resort department requests.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must have a professional and courteous attitude toward guests, other employees and the general public at all times
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands & arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
- Occasionally exposed to extreme heat (non-weather)
- Risk of electrical shock
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, or vibration
- Frequently exposed to working near moving mechanical parts
- Moderate noise level
- Work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multilevel buildings and outdoor work areas
- Subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites
- Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery
- Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out
- Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays
