Job Summary
Supervise, train, and inspect assigned laundry attendants to ensure all procedures meet hotel standards while maintaining positive guest relations. Anticipate guest needs and document laundry, dry cleaning, and pressing requests for garments and uniforms. Maintain accurate poundage records, monitor chemical and water usage, and replenish designated supplies throughout the shift. Break down and clean work areas, report faulty equipment or safety hazards, and complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving. Assist in other laundry areas, attend designated meetings, and stock supplies as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year experience in laundry / dry cleaning position
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and chemical handling, requirements and use of equipment
- High School graduate
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
- Ability to: Perform Job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Ability to: Prioritize and organize
- Ability to: Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement
- Ability to: Follows directions thoroughly
- Ability to: Understands employee needs
- Ability to: Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- Ability to: Work with minimal supervision
- Ability to: Maintain confidentially employee information and pertinent hotel data
- Ability to: Ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training
- Ability to: Direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections when needed
Desired Qualifications
- Supervisory experience
- Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish
- Previous guest relations training
- Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers
