Job Summary
Collect soiled linens from throughout the facility, sort, wash, dry, and fold the linens, and iron as necessary. Distribute clean linens among departments according to schedule and wash, dry, and mend residents' personal clothing as directed. Operate commercial and residential washing machines and dryers while observing infection control and sanitation policies. Transport soiled and clean linen carts, maintain equipment and laundry areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner, and keep accurate records of linen inventory. Requires a high school education or GED, reliable transportation, and ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently. Willingness to work beyond normal hours, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess at minimum a High School Education or equivalent (GED)
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language sufficiently and comprehensively enough to perform the essential functions of the job
- Willing to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, holidays, and/or on other shifts and in other positions, when necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Laundry experience preferred, but not required, as on the job training will be provided
- Experience in healthcare facility preferred
