Job Summary
Collect soiled linens, towels, and resident clothing from designated areas, then sort by type, color, and washing requirements. Operate commercial washers and dryers per facility procedures, fold, stack, and distribute clean laundry to resident rooms and departments. Ensure proper labeling, return resident personal clothing, and follow infection control procedures when handling contaminated items. Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area, monitor equipment malfunctions, and keep adequate linen supplies. Follow safety procedures for laundry chemicals and assist with special requests as directed by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment
- Knowledge of basic infection control and sanitation practices
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred
- healthcare or hospitality experience is a plus
