Pick up soiled laundry from resident rooms, sort by color and fabric type, and operate washing machines and dryers using correct detergent and temperature settings. Wash contaminated linens separately, wear gloves, and maintain equipment while replacing filters and keeping work areas clean. Fold, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry to resident rooms or storage areas with proper labeling. Monitor linen supply levels, request additional supplies as needed, and coordinate with nursing staff to address laundry needs. Follow universal precautions to prevent cross-contamination and ensure infection control. Lift up to 30 lbs. and work regular shifts including weekends and holidays.
