Job Summary
Oversee daily laundry department operations, ensuring efficient processing of guest and operational linens while maintaining highest cleanliness and quality standards. Supervise and train laundry staff, manage departmental budgets, and coordinate with housekeeping for timely item delivery. Monitor equipment maintenance, control inventory levels, and enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations including chemical handling. Prepare performance reports, conduct staff appraisals, and address guest complaints promptly. Requires minimum 8-10 years experience, hospitality management qualification, and ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in laundry management
- Proven track record of managing laundry operations in a hotel or large-scale institutional setting
- Strong knowledge of laundry equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, training, and performance management
- Proficiency in inventory management and cost control procedures
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to laundry operations
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively across departments
- Proficiency in using laundry management software and basic computer applications
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends as required
- Hospitality management qualification or relevant certification in laundry operations
