Job Summary
Develop and operate daily laundry department functions, including formulating washing formulas, ensuring linen and uniform standards, and maintaining equipment through coordination with engineering and maintenance teams. Direct all staff by supervising personnel, approving duty rosters, hiring new hires, conducting weekly meetings, and organizing training. Manage operational efficiency by developing new methods, monitoring costs, preparing annual budgets, and making reports to the Executive Housekeeper. Ensure uniform room inspections for damage and replacement while handling guest concerns and workplace problems.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
- 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
- Supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in Company approved spreadsheets
- Proficiency in word processing
- Valid driver's license for the applicable state
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to work well in stressful high pressure situations
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Ability to be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to assimilate complex information data etc from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Ability to be effective at listening to understanding clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
