Job Summary
Collect, transport, sort, and unload all dirty linens, towels, and rags while spot-treating stains as needed. Operate washing machines and dryers, cleaning filters after every three loads and maintaining equipment according to trained procedures. Wash and dry linens per management direction, then neatly fold items and stock carts, shelves, and storage rooms. Sweep and mop floors to ensure the laundry room and storage areas remain safe and clean. Handle laundry equipment using programmed cycles and report maintenance issues to the Head Housekeeper. Deliver cribs, towels, or other items to guestrooms as requested and turn in lost items to the Head Housekeeper. Maintain a professional appearance, communicate effectively with guests and staff, and follow all safety, security, and OSHA guidelines. Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays while supporting a positive work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school education
- Ability to communicate with hotel staff, guests, and management in a professional manner
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to learn safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies and procedures
- Neat, well-groomed appearance including wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards)
- Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, lift up to 50 pounds from time to time
- Must be able to communicate well with others
- Effectively deal with guests
- Accept constructive criticism

- Implement all company policies and procedures for safety and security
- Complete training in all areas of security, alcohol, and health and safety
- Ensuring that all OSHA, State, and Federal guidelines for chemical, fire, health, and safety are being followed
- Keeping safety in mind in all things
- Participates in and supports a positive, enjoyable work environment
- Handle laundry equipment according to programmed cycles
- Follow all state and federal guidelines including OSHA Hazardous Communication Training
- Communicates openly with direct supervisor
