Job Summary
Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press linens, towels, bed sheets, and other hotel laundry items according to established procedures. Inspect laundered items for quality standards, address stains or damage, and maintain an organized inventory of clean linens to meet guest room and dining demands. Handle laundry equipment including washers, dryers, and ironing machines while cleaning and maintaining machinery, and promptly report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, or safety hazards to management. Coordinate with housekeepers and other departments to ensure a steady supply of clean linens. Requires physical fitness to lift up to 50lbs, extended standing, and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of different fabrics, laundering techniques, and proper garment care
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify stains, damage, or quality issues
- Basic understanding of laundry equipment and machinery
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy laundry bags
- Commitment to hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift to 50lbs
- Ability to follow safety protocols when operating laundry machinery
