Job Summary
Collect, launder, fold, and return fresh linens and personal clothing to designated facility locations while sorting items by type, soiling, fabric, and color. Load washing machines, select cycles, add detergents, transfer items to dryers, remove lint, and keep the laundry area clean daily. Label residents' clothing, maintain records of personal possessions, assist in locating missing articles, and distribute garments. Practice infection control measures, ensure proper storage of hazardous substances, and observe resident confidentiality. Arrive on time, follow supervisor assignments, and maintain intermediate English proficiency for safe interaction with residents and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 yrs. age
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Respect for residents' privacy and rights
- Respectful and dignified treatment of residents
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
