Job Summary
Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron resident clothing and facility linens while stocking linen closets and carts. Deliver clean linens to resident rooms and maintain a sanitary work area by performing routine equipment cleaning and purging damaged items. Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with company policies, federal and state laws, and professional standards. Requires ability to lift 50 lbs, read at an appropriate level, and communicate effectively with residents and families. Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to be patient and polite
- Ability to learn operation of washing machines, dryers and associated equipment
- Ability to learn infection control techniques
- Six months experience in a long term care environment
