Job Summary
Perform day-to-day Laundry Department functions to ensure that quality laundry services are provided for residents; sort soiled laundry, wash and dry items per procedures, fold and distribute clean laundry, and maintain a clean, safe, sanitary laundry area. Follow infection-control practices, coordinate with nursing staff, and report equipment or safety issues to supervision to ensure timely, safe service to residents.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must possess, as a minimum, an 8th grade education.
- Must demonstrate the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must demonstrate the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of the laundry area and equipment for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
