Job Summary
Perform day-to-day activities in the Laundry Department to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility while ensuring adequate linen supplies for residents. Follow established work schedules, fire safety policies, and laundry procedures, utilizing safety equipment and personal protective gear when handling chemicals or heavy objects up to 25 pounds. Coordinate daily services with nursing staff, report accidents or incidents, and keep work areas free of hazardous conditions. Distribute clean laundry during emergencies and maintain confidentiality of resident care information. Keep supervisors informed of supply needs and ensure all equipment is properly stored at shift's end.
Required Qualifications
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of laundry areas, for sanitation, order, and safety.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
- Should be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
