Job Summary
Perform day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility with adequate linen supplies. Follow cleaning schedules, coordinate services with nursing staff, and ensure work areas remain free of hazardous conditions. Report accidents, adhere to fire safety policies, and use proper techniques when mixing chemicals or handling infectious materials. Wear required safety equipment, keep carts and equipment clean, and store supplies correctly at shift end. During emergencies, distribute clean laundry and garments as instructed while maintaining resident confidentiality. Maintain care of supplies and follow written or oral instructions regarding cleaning compounds.
Required Qualifications
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of laundry areas, for sanitation, order, and safety.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
- Should be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
