Job Summary
Load machines to proper weight and level, set cycles, and dispense detergents and chemicals. Sort laundry by color and fabric, pre-soak items as needed, and transfer laundered goods to dryers in sanitized containers. Fold, stack, and iron items in proper order while mending those that require repair. Distribute personal laundry to patient closets, clean and disinfect floors, appliances, carts, and areas, and ensure sanitation standards are met. Clean dryer vents daily and verify equipment is available and in good repair. Identify and correct safety hazards, enforce abuse prevention policies, and attend weekly in-services.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
- Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model
- Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Networks Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it
- Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems
- Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a long-term care or healthcare laundry department
