Job Summary
Sort and fold terry and linens while maintaining the cleanliness and order of the laundry facility. Operate laundry equipment safely as trained and monitor the quality of laundered items, notifying supervisors of any deviations. Maintain a continual flow of linen as directed and report any misuse to management. Ensure all employees meet Grand Traverse Resort and Spa standards and assist in any area where needed. Work effectively under strict deadlines with a positive attitude, adhering to personal appearance standards and environmental practices.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
- Native American Preference will apply
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year previous Housekeeping/Laundry experience preferred
- High school diploma or its equivalent preferred
- Positive, upbeat attitude
- Good communication skills, including verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines
- Possess excellent organization and communication skills
- Maintain a pleasant and tactful personality
- Maintain high staff morale and project a positive attitude
- Work effectively with others
- Detail and quality oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Possess excellent time management skills and be comfortable with meeting firm deadlines
- Responsible for any projects assigned to you
- Assist in any area of laundry that you are needed
- Report any misuse of linen/terry to your Laundry Manager/Supervisor
- Ensure that all laundry employees are meeting Grand Traverse Resort and Spa standards
- Responsible for any and all other reasonable requests by management
- Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
