Job Summary
Launch Vehicle Systems Engineer collaborates with the New Glenn Chief Engineer and technical leads to execute systems engineering projects, develop risk packages for ChERB, NRDV, and LVM tasks, and support certification and launch readiness for the New Glenn launch system. Responsibilities include evaluating design and operational capabilities, supporting milestone reviews (Aero Readiness, President's Review, Flight Readiness, and launch-site readiness), providing technical and programmatic recommendations, managing JIRA/Confluence tooling, developing digital engineering processes, and preparing assessments for internal and external reviews. Requires on-site work at Los Angeles AFB, CA, with ~25% domestic travel; requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering/science, 6+ years of relevant experience, DoD security clearance eligibility, and U.S. citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution
- 6 or more years of progressively responsible professional engineering/scientific experience
- Exposure to manufacturing and production issues related to launch system hardware
- Experience working with diverse and multidisciplinary teams to solve technical issues, especially related to anomaly and failure investigations
- Willingness to travel domestically approximately 25%
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance
