Job Summary
Launch Site Development team leads the end-to-end execution of mission-critical test and launch operations across a growing portfolio of launch sites (including Vandenberg, Wallops, Cape Canaveral, and Esrange in Sweden). The role owns the integration of ground-system upgrades, develops automation sequences and operational software tools, writes procedures for launch pad configuration and vehicle operations, and leads cross-functional teams across fluids, propulsion, avionics, structures, software, and ground systems. Responsibilities include design reviews, troubleshooting, anomaly investigations, and ensuring regulatory and range-safety compliance while coordinating with customers and partners. Requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 5+ years of hands-on experience in high-consequence operational environments, on-console real-time operations, and programming in Python or MATLAB. Travel up to 25% to test and launch sites; ability to lead and mentor Operations team members and support hiring. Master’s degree is desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in test operations, launch operations, or similar high-consequence operational environments
- On-console experience in real-time operations
- Experience developing automation sequences and procedures for hazardous, time-critical, or mission-critical systems
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, MATLAB, or similar) with demonstrated application to operational tooling, data analysis, or automation
- Comfortable working in launch site environments with field testing, heavy equipment, and hazardous materials
- Willingness to support off-hour shifts during launch operations
