Job Summary
Latvian Language Instructor needed to teach adult professionals at the ICLS schoolhouse in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include teaching Latvian at varying proficiency levels to private students and/or small groups; assignments may be full-time or part-time. The role requires native-level Latvian proficiency, a bachelor’s degree or higher, and at least two years of experience teaching Latvian to adults in a full-time setting. Preference for advanced degrees in teaching or related fields, ILR scale familiarity, curriculum development experience, and experience preparing students for DoD/Foreign Service proficiency testing. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years’ experience teaching Latvian to adults in a full-time setting
- Native-level proficiency in Latvian
- Possess at minimum a bachelor’s degree
- Legal Authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Post graduate degree in teaching, second language acquisition, or a similar field
- Familiarity with the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) scale
- Curriculum development experience
- Experience preparing students for DoD and Foreign Service proficiency testing
- Familiarity with Educational Technology tools
