Job Summary

Investigate crimes involving tribal, state, and federal law, collect evidence, and conduct interviews while responding to emergency and non-emergency calls. Enforce laws through arrests, citations, and community patrols, and prepare reports logging incidents per department guidelines. Conduct narcotics investigations, gather intelligence, and investigate traffic incidents to ensure road safety. Provide credible testimony in court and participate in community outreach programs to advocate for public safety. Train peers and new recruits on law enforcement procedures while maintaining high ethical standards. Complete continuous training to stay updated on best practices. This full-time, on-site role requires a minimum of two years of law enforcement experience and adherence to Oregon DPSST standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school
  • Minimum age of 21
  • No felony convictions
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Meets the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) physical and medical standards necessary for certification as a police officer
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain a basic police certificate (DPSST) following successful completion of police academy and field training
  • Proficient use of computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Thorough understanding of applicable tribal, state, and federal laws and regulations
  • Successful completion of a thorough background investigation as determined by the employer
  • Possess a current and valid Oregon Driver's License and the ability to qualify for the Drivers Program
