Job Summary
Establish trusting, collaborative relationships with clients by providing peer-based support, empathy, and validation. Conduct individual and group peer support sessions, drawing from personal experience and recovery strategies. Act as a role model and advocate for recovery, sharing lived experience to instill hope and resilience. Assist clients in setting recovery goals, developing self-management skills, and building a personalized support network. Facilitate connections to community resources, including housing, employment, education, and other support services. Work closely with the clinical team to monitor client progress, participate in case reviews, and update individualized recovery plans. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress notes in accordance with organizational policies and confidentiality regulations. Participate in regular training, supervision, and continuing education opportunities to maintain licensing and expand expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Peer Support Specialist (or equivalent peer support certification)
- Lived experience with substance use or mental health recovery, with a demonstrated period of stable recovery
- High school diploma or GED
- Must pass a criminal background check as required by organizational policy
Desired Qualifications
- Additional coursework in social work, counseling, psychology, or related fields
