Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Welding, or related field)
- 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes and equipment within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot laser welding parameters and processes
- Strong understanding of metallurgy and material science, particularly as it relates to welding dissimilar materials and various alloys
- Experience with metrology and quality control techniques for weld inspection (e.g., destructive and non-destructive testing)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with fiber laser welding systems
- Demonstrated ability to use statistical process control (SPC) for process optimization
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture design and analysis
- Knowledge of metallography and material characterization techniques
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) certification
