Job Summary
Provide technical support to engineers and scientists on moderately complex components, devices, materials, products, processes, and equipment. Test, inspect, and repair electronic, optical, or mechanical assemblies, including alignment, testing, and troubleshooting of solid-state flashlight-pumped lasers and laser rangefinder optical systems. Modify, rework, and repair assemblies using judgment to meet quality control specifications while working from wiring drawings and engineering specifications. Interpret SOPs and safety rules to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. May assist in training new team members and interface with other departments to assure efficient information flow. Perform production activities to meet deadlines and maintain quality pass/fail rates under minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in the field or in a related area
- Strong decision-making and leadership skills
- Experience in handling small, delicate components, using ESD practices
- Experience in the safe handling of chemicals
- Experience in the use of various computer applications, including Access, Excel, and LabVIEW
- Good mechanical skills
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Soldering and wire-bonding experience
