Laser Service Engineer

Job Summary

Conduct equipment inspection, operational verification, maintenance, and preventive and corrective repair service on company and customer-owned surgical laser equipment. Complete paperwork and computer data entry, help with technical training, and accurately account for assigned inventory. Perform other assigned duties while maintaining knowledge of laser physics, safety, and regulatory agency requirements. This role supports business needs through contractual management and account margin maintenance. You will work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency off-hours, with extensive travel on short notice. A valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 75 pounds are required.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in an Applied Science (electronics or biomedical equipment technology)
  • Equivalent military training
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic computer skills, including an understanding of computer networks and equipment interaction
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as emergency off-hours as needed
  • Willingness to travel extensively on short notice to support business needs
  • The ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 75 pounds
  • The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior work experience in a hospital setting or with customer service
  • Knowledge of laser physics and safety
  • Understanding of regulatory agencies' requirements
  • Business management understanding to help with contractual management and account margin maintenance
