Job Summary
Develop a new EML design integrating semiconductor material physics, optical science, and high-speed design technology. Manage stable volume production and productivity improvements from the early development stage by creating new chip assembly technologies with high-frequency simulation. Evaluate chips adopting new techniques, analyze evaluation data, prepare technical reports, and attend meetings to discuss results. Requires a BSc/MSc/PhD in electronics or physics with 4+ years of experience, knowledge of InP material systems, and proficiency in JMP or similar statistical tools. Fluent Japanese speaker with intermediate English. Lumentum leverages advanced photonic technologies to enable AI, data centers, and telecom applications globally.
Required Qualifications
- BSc, MSc, PhD degree in electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or a related equivalent technical field
- Bachelors and 6+ years of work experience
- Masters and 4+ years of work experience
- PhD. no relevant work experience
- Knowledge of compound semiconductor such as InP material system and material physics
- Experience of semiconductor laser design and development with at least 1-2 years' experience
- Experience of product design for yield improvement and cost reduction of semiconductor laser diode
- High frequency simulation skill and knowledge of semiconductor device reliability
- Experience in analyzing large volumes of experimental data using JMP or similar statistical analysis tools
- Fluent Japanese speaker
- Intermediate English skill
