Job Summary
Create and modify CNC laser cutting programs using CAD/CAM and nesting software, reviewing customer drawings and blueprints to ensure parts are programmed correctly. Nest parts efficiently to maximize material utilization, preparing programs based on material type, thickness, and quantity before releasing them to production. Work closely with laser operators and production personnel to troubleshoot issues, make adjustments for quality and efficiency, and maintain organized programming files. Follow all company quality and safety procedures while collaborating with other departments to meet production schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
- Strong understanding of sheet metal materials, thicknesses, and cutting characteristics
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with laser programming, CNC programming, or CAD/CAM
- Experience with CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and nesting/CAM software
- Manufacturing or fabrication experience
