Laser Operator

Job Summary
Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal components. Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. Load and unload raw materials onto the laser bed. Monitor machine operations for quality, accuracy, and efficiency. Inspect finished parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure specifications are met. Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laser equipment. Adjust machine settings such as speed, power, and focus to optimize cutting performance. Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards. Adhere to all safety procedures and wear PPE at all times. Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment preferred
- Experience in metal fabrication, especially with cabinets or rack systems, is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC controls/software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
