Job Summary
Oversee laser department operations in the Waukegan area. Schedule staff, program and set up laser cutting machines, monitor production performance, and ensure quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met. Responsibilities include supervising and scheduling department employees, programming and setting up laser equipment, resolving process issues, ensuring parts meet customer quality specifications, validating production reporting in the ERP system, coordinating preventative maintenance and machine repairs, training employees on safety procedures and quality standards, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5–10 years of experience setting up and programming laser cutting machines
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
- Experience in metal fabrication preferred
