Job Summary
Set up and operate manual and CNC machines to finish machined parts, reading blueprints, specifications, and drawings while maintaining quality and safety standards. Perform tool changes, offsets, and compensation adjustments; troubleshoot malfunctions by adjusting controls, sharpening, and replacing worn tools. Complete preventative maintenance, verify settings through measurements of first-run parts and samples, and document actions in production and quality logs. Communicate work order status and irregularities, and explore opportunities to add value in the work area. Requires 2+ years of production machinery experience and ability to lift 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 2+ years' experience using production machinery
- Understanding work order, blueprints, control plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, critical surfaces/edges, and machining parameters while interpreting geometric dimension and tolerances (GD&T)
- Understanding work instructions ad zero/reference points
- Understanding of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
- Positive and proactive attitude toward completing work orders
- Willingness to learn and grow through Sun Hydraulics
- Meeting commitments and obligations
- Ability to lift 50 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- Technical college degree
- Experience working with a Mazak Star/Integrex or Swiss Lathes
