Job Summary
Teach middle school English/Language Arts aligned with Oregon Middle School and Common Core State Standards. Collaborate with the LA Professional Learning Community to provide students with a well-planned and organized instructional program utilizing effective school practices. Responsibilities include delivering ELA instruction, planning lessons that align with standards, maintaining positive classroom management, assessing student progress with standards-based grading, and communicating effectively with students, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oregon Teaching License with English/Language Arts endorsement meeting Highly Qualified Teacher standards
- Demonstrated positive classroom management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in instruction / learning methods and techniques
- Demonstrated understanding and judgment regarding student safety
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, administrators, students, parents, and patrons
- Ability to meet the Junction City School District Standards of Competent Teacher Performance and the Oregon Standards for Professional Educators
- Ability to know, understand, and adhere to school rules and District policies
