Job Summary
Language Arts Teacher at Woodbury Middle School (0.80 FTE) provides instruction and guidance to middle school students. Primary duties include planning and conducting a balanced program of instruction with demonstrations and independent work; instructing students individually and in groups using varied methods; observing and evaluating student performance, behavior, and health; maintaining accurate student records; meeting with parents/guardians to discuss progress and priorities; conferring with staff to address behavioral and academic concerns; preparing objectives and outlines for coursework aligned with curriculum guidelines; administering standardized and state-mandated assessments; and participating in professional development. Licensure must be current for Minnesota in the appropriate subject area and level. Salary is based on the teacher contract with BA or MA levels, and anticipated start date is 8/24/26. Required Qualifications
- Current Minnesota teaching license in 5-8 or 5-12 Communication Arts/Literature
- BA in Language Arts or related field or MA preferred
- Demonstrated collaboration and relationship building skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Effective attendance and reliability
- Ability to use common software (e.g., Microsoft Word)
- Commitment to diversity and positive environment
- Experience with planning and delivering instruction for middle school students
- Knowledge of curriculum guidelines and state requirements
