Job Summary

Lead traffic control persons and manage the safe setup, maintenance, and removal of signs and work zone delineations across the lower mainland. Provide precise directions to motorists, monitor traffic flow, and modify controls as work scope changes. Conduct traffic control for heavy utility, paving, and special events while ensuring full compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and completing required accident investigations. Report directly to site supervisors or company managers regarding safety matters and non-compliance. Maintain current BC Traffic Control Person certification and wear all necessary PPE. Available weekdays with occasional weekend work in all weather conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of BC LCT experience
  • Current TCP certification recognized by WorkSafeBC or equivalent provincial regulator
  • Drivers License with a clean driving record
  • Possession of and ability to use a smartphone with a data plan
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the WorkSafeBC Regulations for Traffic Control, Part 18
  • Knowledge and understanding of the WCB Act, sections 115-117, General Duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Management Manual for Work on Roadways as developed by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the British Columbia Motor Vehicle Act and other regulations related to traffic control
  • Ensures accountability - holding self and others accountable to meet commitments
  • Collaborates - Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Manages conflict - Handling conflict situations effectively
  • Directs Work - Provides directions, delegates, and removes obstacles to get work done
  • Situational adaptability - adapting approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
  • Plans and align - plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
  • Available 5 weekdays (Mon-Fri)
  • Occasional weekend work available
  • Working outdoors in all elements and weather

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in heavy underground, light utility, electrical, paving, road building, and special events
