Job Summary
Lane Closure Technician (LCT) role leading Traffic Control operations in the lower mainland BC. Responsible for safe setup, maintenance, and removal of traffic control measures across worksites; lead Traffic Control personnel; give clear directions and signals to motorists; monitor and adapt traffic control as scope changes; ensure compliance with health and safety Acts, Regulations, Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures; participate in investigations and reporting; perform field-level risk assessments; coordinate with Special Events and health & safety processes; wear required PPE and use two-way radios according to WorkSafeBC rules; maintain BC TCP certification; opportunities for career growth within field, operations, and safety teams.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of BC LCT experience
- Current BC Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification or equivalent recognized by WorkSafeBC
- Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Smartphone with data plan
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC Regulations for Traffic Control (Part 18)
- Knowledge of WCB Act sections 115-117, General Duties
- Knowledge of Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Management Manual for Roadways as developed by MOTI
- Knowledge of British Columbia Motor Vehicle Act and related regulations
