Job Summary
Establish and maintain safe work zones on state highways by setting up and taking down lane closures, redirecting traffic for workers and survey crews. Manage traffic flow effectively using stop/slow paddles while collaborating with team members to ensure project safety. Perform strenuous physical labor involving lifting objects up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and operating in extreme conditions including inclement weather and high noise levels. Work independently or as part of a traffic control crew, delivering exceptional service and protection to clients during overnight shifts. Advance from an entry-level position through continuous training, including ATSSA certification and defensive driving, with opportunities to progress to Lead Protector, Field Supervisor, or Manager roles.
Required Qualifications
- Employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position
- Position lifts or carries objects up to 50 pounds
- Stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
- Position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
- Hours of operation may vary due to staffing needs- CURRENT HOURS: Starting between 5-6pm and working 10-14 hour overnight shifts
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles
- Frequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites including high noise level in the work environment
- Position requires work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
