Job Summary
Establish and maintain safe work zones by setting up and taking down lane closures on state highways and other roadways. Redirect traffic for workers or survey crews while managing flow effectively with stop/slow paddles. Collaborate with team members to ensure the safety of all projects. Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions, including extreme weather and high noise levels, while lifting objects up to 50 pounds. Work overnight shifts between 5-6pm and 10-14 hours. Receive continuous training to advance from entry-level to long-term career opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position
- Position lifts or carries objects up to 50 pounds
- Stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
- Position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
- Hours of operation may vary due to staffing needs- CURRENT HOURS: Starting between 5-6pm and working 10-14 hour overnight shifts
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles
- Frequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites including high noise level in the work environment
- Position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
