Job Summary
Lead planning and execution of landscaping, grounds maintenance, and campus enhancement programs, developing seasonal plans for plantings, irrigation, and sustainability suited to Southwest Florida conditions. Oversee lawns, walkways, water features, and exterior spaces while establishing daily priorities based on operational needs, weather, and staffing. Coordinate storm preparation, post-storm cleanup, and restoration efforts, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and water-use guidelines. Manage landscaping budgets, evaluate vendor performance, and provide direction to internal staff and external contractors. Conduct performance evaluations, manage hiring decisions, and review timecards to ensure appropriate coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in landscaping, grounds management, horticulture, or a related field
- Strong ability to lead teams and manage day-to-day operations
- Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships
- Understanding of irrigation systems, drainage, and Southwest Florida environmental conditions
- Ability to manage multiple seasonal and operational priorities
- Excellent problem-solving and independent decision-making skills
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
- Experience in a large campus, hospitality, country club, golf course, senior living, or similar environment
