Job Summary
Maintain the park environment by installing, pruning, and watering ornamental plants while manually removing debris from beds and containers. Operate heavy machinery for loading materials, mowing, and tilling, and monitor irrigation systems to detect problems and adjust performance. Clean fountains and lakes, manage wild animal control, and apply pest control methods including traps and barriers to protect property. Inspect premises for infestations, determine treatment needs, and ensure structural integrity around rides and signage. Provide guest service according to Cedar Fair standards by answering questions and giving directions. Requires at least two years of landscaping and pesticide experience, a valid driver's license, and availability for weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed per business needs
- Ability to understand and comply with requirements for the safe performance of work
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of different plants and their maintenance requirements, such as water, prune, weed, and fertilizer
- Good skills with using tools and equipment needed for landscape work
- Typically requires at least 2 years of irrigation, hardscaping, planting, and pesticide experience
