Job Summary
Conduct general facility and grounds maintenance on the Tribal Reservation and San Manuel properties under Supervisor direction. Perform weed abatement, control fertilization of trees and lawns, and regularly maintain landscaping. Clean debris from grounds, maintain roads and parking lots, and operate tractors and riding equipment while inspecting their safety. Execute erosion control mitigation using jute netting, wattles, and sandbags, and clear water drains. Detect and identify plant problems to recommend treatments. Work in an outdoor environment with exposure to weather, noise, and machinery, requiring stamina for long hours, overtime, and an irregular schedule including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment
- Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment
- Pleasant attitude and customer service skills
- Ability to read, write and communicate efficiently
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Strength sufficient to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone
- Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, and over the telephone
- Visual Acuity that includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office and outdoor environment; walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties
- Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours
- Ability to climb; crouching; kneeling; bending and twisting; and ability to maintain balance while climbing or moving across rough, uneven and/or rocky surfaces and while lifting and/or carrying moderately heavy objects
- Stamina to work long hours and overtime, if assigned
- Willingness to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or varying shifts
