Job Summary
Prepare surfaces, lay bricks and concrete, and construct or repair fences and patios according to blueprints and plans. Mix cement, cut materials with power tools, and operate equipment like bobcats while measuring work areas to calculate time and materials. Collaborate with designers, department heads, and other trades to ensure projects meet budgets, building codes, and style specifications. Liaise with suppliers to source materials within customer budgets and maintain clean, organized work areas. Some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required; a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Must be knowledgeable of related tools, masonry techniques, and materials
- Skill in the construction, alteration, repair and maintenance of masonry structures and surfaces
- Working knowledge of hardscaping techniques
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Good maths skills to calculate work surface and materials
- Experience with using hardscaping tools
- Able to follow spoken and written instructions
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds continuously
- Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Hardscaping tools
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years landscape/hardscape experience preferred
- A degree or an apprenticeship in landscaping with hardscape preferred
- High level of creativity
- Excellent design skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations and codes
