Job Summary
The Landscaper contributes to a positive guest experience at our Jamaica Bay property by maintaining and beautifying resort landscapes. Responsibilities include walking the property daily, planting shrubs and trees, assisting with hardscape installation and maintenance, mowing and trimming, fertilizing and irrigating lawns, mulching, weed control, equipment operation and maintenance, safety procedures, and providing high-quality customer service to guests and staff. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working on-site in Fort Myers, FL. The position supports team members through training and collaboration within a high-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Must be able to stand and walk for lengthy periods of time
- Skilled in landscaping and property maintenance
- Superior customer service skills
- Ability to effectively train and engage team members
- Ability to function well in a high pace, sometimes high stress environment
- Comfortable effectively communicating with all levels of guests and staff
- Operate power driven equipment (blower, weedwhip, edger, chainsaw) following safety procedures and PPE
- Loading and unloading of equipment, equipment trailering and transportation of crews
- Distribute proper fertilizers, insecticides, and organic materials
- Mows grass, trims trees and shrubs, fertilizes lawns, plants materials, irrigates lawns, and aerates plant areas
- Assisting with installation and maintenance of hardscapes
- General cleaning of landscapes
- Walk property daily
- Grade and plant when necessary
- Mulching and landscaping materials handling
- Weeding and weed removal
- Inspect and maintain equipment
- Respond to inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or team members
