Job Summary
Mow, trim, and maintain outdoor spaces by using hand and gas-powered tools to cut grass, rake leaves, prune bushes, and water vegetation. Keep driveways, walkways, and parking lots clear by removing snow and ice, while ensuring outdoor seating furniture remains clean and polished. Maintain heavy equipment such as mowers and compact excavators, apply herbicides, set up irrigation, and dig ditches to control runoff. Fix divots and ball marks on golf course grounds, mark restricted areas during play, and repair grounds equipment as needed. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions under direct supervision, handling basic issues and referring complex problems to higher-level staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 0 to 2 years of experience
- Good knowledge about machinery and equipments used in groundskeeper job
- Ability to spot problems and diseases in plants and take up preventive measures
- Strong and healthy since the work is of a physical nature and involves lifting weights and working in sun and cold
- Good knowledge about gardening methods and foliage
- Must be able to spend long hours outdoors
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be available for weekend shifts
