Job Summary

Manage horticultural, softscape, forestry, planting, and landscape establishment activities across a major development program, providing technical oversight on plant selection, soil preparation, and irrigation requirements. Conserve topography and open spaces within heritage zones to preserve cultural landscapes while ensuring all works comply with Saudi heritage legislation and UNESCO guidelines. Represent the landscape discipline within the project BIM process to coordinate geographical, architectural, and infrastructure models, resolving clashes and maintaining data integrity. Monitor site works to ensure delivery aligns with approved designs and contract requirements, preparing technical reports and progress updates for senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Forestry, Agriculture, Arboriculture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 18 years of relevant experience in horticulture, forestry, softscape, planting, landscape establishment or landscape maintenance
  • Strong technical knowledge of plant health, tree management, soil science, irrigation requirements, nursery stock, pest control, fertilization, pruning and landscape establishment
  • Experience managing horticultural or forestry works on large-scale public realm, parks, infrastructure, mixed-use, urban development or open-space projects
  • Ability to review planting plans, landscape drawings, specifications, method statements, material submittals and inspection requests
  • Understanding of heritage-sensitive environments and the need to conserve topography, open spaces and cultural landscapes in line with defined conservation principles
  • Familiarity with BIM-enabled project delivery and coordination of landscape information with other disciplines (awareness of LOD concepts, data integrity and codification)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in the GCC or Middle East region
  • Knowledge of arid climate planting, native and adaptive species, water-efficient landscaping and sustainable horticultural practices
  • Experience with tree surveys, tree relocation, tree protection, forestry management or arboricultural assessments
  • Experience with nursery management, plant procurement and plant material inspections
  • Experience working on projects involving heritage assets, cultural landscapes or historic environments
  • Experience contributing landscape information to BIM models and participating in BIM coordination activities
  • Professional certification or membership in horticulture, forestry, arboriculture, agriculture, irrigation or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in a PMC, supervision consultant, contractor or client representative environment
