Job Summary
Coordinate daily landscape installations, including gardens, lawns, hardscapes, and irrigation systems, while supervising planting operations and managing greenhouse activities. Lead occasional projects from start to finish and operate heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, mini excavators, and skid steer machinery. Perform utility marking identification, soil testing, and material handling while maintaining a clean, safe job site. Execute end-of-day reporting and inventory tasks as required. This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions with strenuous physical labor demands.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Expert knowledge of plants, transplants, fertilizers, applies chemicals, waters, prunes, and weeds flower beds, plant areas, horticulture methods and materials, landscaping and cultivation of trees and woody plants
- Expert knowledge to maintains flowers, bushes, trees, and shrubs
- Ability to identify soil types and accurately assess correct amendments
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
- Ability to perform and supervise grounds maintenance tasks
- Skill in interpreting and completing landscape plans
- Knowledge of fertilizer and/or pesticide applications
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment
- Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is detail oriented
- Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to both employees and clients
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Ability to interpret, understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Proficient in operating heavy equipment such as front end loaders, mini excavators, and skid steer machinery with various attachments
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects at least 25lbs and up to 50lbs
- Excellent stamina
