Landscape Inspector - Arborist

Job Summary
Technical landscape inspection role in municipal planning and economic development: inspects sites to verify compliance with approved landscape plans, processes tree removal and landscape permits, assesses tree health and necessary mitigation, prepares and presents code cases, and supports public inquiries. Requires knowledge of landscape and arboriculture practices, ability to read and interpret plans, familiarity with city ordinances and permit processes, and strong customer service. Qualifications include an Associate’s degree in a related field, plus ISA Arborist and LIAF certifications; valid driver’s license; bilingual Spanish a plus.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree in landscaping, horticulture, or other appropriate field is required.
- Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years experience in municipal landscaping and/or landscape inspections is preferred.
- Must possess ISA Arborist Certification.
- Must possess LIAF Landscape Inspector’s Certification.
