Job Summary
Lead landscape crews in constructing and maintaining outdoor spaces. Responsibilities include delegating tasks and supervising tools/equipment, recruiting and training new crew members, assessing progress, enforcing health and safety regulations, completing landscape design and construction, maintaining lawns and gardens, and overseeing use of pesticides and chemicals. Prepare inventory checks, equipment inspections, and cost/material/time estimates; maintain records with spreadsheets; schedule training sessions. Requires a high school diploma (horticulture certification preferred), 2+ years of experience, and ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions; leadership experience is advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (degree in horticulture recommended)
- Relevant certificate may be required
- Minimum of 2+ years working experience
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping
- On-the-job training as a landscape crew member
- Experience in a leadership role would be advantageous
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions
