Job Summary
Provide technical planning and design assistance for Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program natural disaster projects in Florida, including conceptual trail planning, river access, and water trail development. Coordinate cooperative conservation and outdoor recreation planning projects with government agencies, non-profit organizations, tribes, and community groups. Organize and conduct planning/design workshops and events, facilitating meetings in-person and virtually to engage the public in the planning process. Prepare written and graphic materials, maps, and designs to communicate with diverse audiences, while communicating frequently with public agency and non-profit representatives. Requires 10 years of experience in community planning or landscape architecture, or a relevant degree, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams. Travel to site visits and workshops is required, with infrequent air travel anticipated depending on residence.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in community planning and/or landscape architecture, project management and public engagement
- BA/BS Degree in Planning/Landscape Architecture
- Knowledge of outdoor recreation or community planning and design with experience at facilitation, partnership development, community outreach and engagement, project planning and management
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint
- Must be able to walk short distances of up to a mile along unimproved surfaces
- Must be able to wear Personal Protection Equipment related to invasive plant and insects, UV and tick protection
- Must adhere to COVID Prevention and Best Practices
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Must be at least 55 years old
