Job Summary
Landscape Care Technician responsibilities include enhancing plant health through pruning and weed management, maintaining the visual quality of commercial/multifamily landscapes, directing crews to complete tasks on customer sites, transporting crew via company vehicle, training crew members, addressing site issues, and performing landscape tasks (planting, watering, pruning, weeding, debris removal) with emphasis on customer service and teamwork. The role requires physical activity, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and seasonal full-time hours with winter snow-removal duties; certification and leadership expectations are noted as well as bilingual language support as a helpful asset. The position is based in Middleton, WI, and is a full-time seasonal role with typical hours 6:45 am–5:00 pm, plus December–March snow-related variations. Required Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience with or ability to learn effective landscaping maintenance skills and techniques.
- Horticulture Expertise: A minimum of 1-3 years of landscape maintenance/horticulture experience is required.
- Leadership: Previous foreman or crew leader experience is preferred.
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with landscape tools and equipment (pruners, string trimmers, shears, backpack blower, backpack sprayer) is preferred.
- Plant Knowledge: Knowledge of flowers, trees, shrubs, and other landscape products is helpful but not required.
- Certification: Category 3.0 Turf and Landscape Certification or the ability to gain certification within 45 days of hire.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English is helpful.
